أهلاً بكم في بشرى

Welcome to Boshra

Every parent who has tried to help their child memorize the Quran knows the same quiet ache: there are not enough hours in the day, and there is not enough patience to go around. Even the most committed family eventually hits a wall — a forgotten ayah, a missed review, a slow erosion of what was once memorized cleanly.

Boshra is being built for that wall.

We are a small team of parents, engineers, and students of the Quran building an iOS companion that sits beside a child while they memorize: it listens patiently, corrects gently, and remembers exactly which ayāt are due for review and which are not. The methodology is not new — spaced repetition has been quietly used by huffāẓ for centuries — but the tools available to families today have not caught up with it.

What Boshra will do

  • Listen and correct. Real-time tajweed feedback that's encouraging rather than embarrassing. A child can practice alone and still hear when a vowel slipped.
  • Remember for you. Boshra tracks every ayah your child has touched and schedules reviews on the intervals that keep memory durable.
  • Stay out of the way. No streaks-for-streaks-sake, no leaderboards, no notifications begging for attention. The Quran is not a game.

"هُدًى وَبُشْرَىٰ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ" — a guidance and good news for the believers.

Why now

We have three children of our own who are at different stages of their hifẓ journey. We know what the apps on the App Store today actually feel like to use, and we know what they lack. We started Boshra because we needed it ourselves.

If you'd like to be among the first to use it when we launch on the App Store, we'll have a notification list open soon. In the meantime, the writing on this blog will share the methodology we're using, the conversations we're having with Quran teachers, and the small lessons we're learning along the way.

May Allah accept this from us and from you.
